Simon Michaels

Born on 16th July 1983 in Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia. Simon Christopher Michaels is my full name. Born into a family with a funk musician as my father, I got to do performances at very early age. I started of as a gospel singer on stage at a very tender age, on the drums at the age of 8 and by 10, i was already strumming the guitar.

I started out as a singer cum guitarist, and then eventually formed my very first PURE gospel ROCK Band, Masmen. Most of our music covers a wide range of genre but mainly influenced by ROCK. I guess cause I got into the influence of Bon Jovi, Petra, Ron Kenoly & so on since I started playing and performing.

Developing the band was no easy task, but we manage to grow through dedication and started performing at various events, namely religious conventions, charity performances and also local gig scenes. As I grow to know and are more capable of my goals, I grew very ambitious, getting to the top 20 in my 1st National contest was even more encouraging for me to share my music with all my friends... and friends to be.

As mentioned, I grew ambitious and ventured into secular music. In Penang, I got to explore more music and performing experiences as i embarked my journey into the unplugged music scene.

I consider myself very hardworking in the effort of carving my name into the local music scene. At the same time lucky to have my friends and event companies who give me the opportunities to expose and share my talents at the same time.

I've been performing with good deals and great appreciattions in many weddings, company events, cafes and restaurants.

Blessed am I to have offer to produce my album with my self composed songs today.
Created this blog to have more friends and to get to know more people to share experiences.
Really appreciate if anyone out there would willingly guide and comment on my music, singing and hopefully... eventually my album.
